Short version: Cogfall does not collect your name, email address, location, or any personal information. Your game progress is saved locally on your device. The only data generated is a random anonymous ID used to distinguish your device, and anonymous advertising data if you play the Android version.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

Your name or email address
Your location or GPS data
Your phone number
Photos, camera, or microphone data
Contacts or calendar data
Any account credentials
Any payment information

3. Information Generated Locally

Cogfall generates and stores the following data on your device only:

Game progress — your floor progress, gear, currency, ascension rank, and settings are saved in your browser's local storage or the app's local data. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
Anonymous player ID — a randomly generated identifier (UUID) is created the first time you play. This ID has no connection to your identity, account, or device information. It is used to distinguish runs on future leaderboard features. It is stored locally on your device.

4. Advertising (Android Version)

The Android version of Cogfall uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve relevant ads, which can include:

Device identifiers (advertising ID)
IP address (used to determine general region)
App usage information
Ad interaction data (whether you viewed or clicked an ad)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by Cogfall directly. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:

5. No Account Required

Cogfall does not require you to create an account or log in. You can play the full game without providing any personal information.

6. Children

Cogfall is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

7. Data Security

Because we do not collect personal data and your game progress is stored locally on your device, there is no personal data on our servers to secure. Your game save data is as secure as your own device.

8. Future Online Features

Cogfall may in the future add optional online features such as global leaderboards. If this occurs, this privacy policy will be updated before those features are enabled, and participation will be optional. The anonymous player ID described in Section 3 is designed for this purpose and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

9. Third Party Services

The Android version of Cogfall is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google's own privacy policy governs data collected through that platform. You can review it at policies.google.com/privacy.

The Steam version of Cogfall is distributed through the Steam platform. Valve's privacy policy governs data collected through that platform. You can review it at store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cogfall after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
